We are finding our way to God.  We see Christianity as a journey and an experience that is best done in an authentic Christ centered community.

We are a community of friends investigating a relationship with God,  some of us for the first time.  We are on a journey to share that story and the hope it brings, and to sojourn together towards Christ.

About Us

Black Rock Retreat 2011 (Pastor Pete is the tall one in the back!)

Pastor Pete

Rev. Peter J. Broomall, Jr. has been the minister at Malaga United Methodist Church since July 1, 2007, where he and his wife, Ethel Jo (a.k.a. "E.J."), live in the parsonage. They have wonderful senses of humor and an excitement for their journey with the people of Porchtown.

Pastor Pete brings his love for the Lord to Porchtown Church with an impressive background that starts with his first appointment to UMC in National Park, NJ, in 1996 where he was involved with the youth ministry for 15 years. He is a 2008 Graduate of the Philadelphia Biblical College.  His top eight priorities are Preaching, Spiritual Growth of Members, Teaching, Stewardship, Evangalism, Mission in Community, Youth Ministry, and Children's ministry.  He brings Porchtown into a church cluster consisting of several South Jersey churches in the area.

Pastor Pete's philosophy for his newest assignment: Malaga and Porchtown are the same church on two different campuses. Each church family will retain its own personality and governing body while the shared ministry will enrichen the lives of all the members of both churches and the community at large as we journey together.
